From Pitchfork:

…the cartoon Major Lazer will get a chance to enter your living room in something longer than a three-minute music video, as Diplo and Switch are getting their own show as a part of Cartoon Network‘s Adult Swim programming block.

Check out their animated video for “Percumajor” below and read more on Pitchfork.com.

British super-DJ Mary Anne Hobbs

Last week, Leah talked to UK dubstep pioneer Mary Anne Hobbs in an exclusive interview where she spilled the dirt on her upcoming tour, being a female DJ in a male-dominated industry, and how she’s influenced the sound of dubstep and helped propel it into the popular music spotlight over the past few years.

Mary Anne has worked as a radio DJ for longer than either of us have been alive (okay, well, not quite…), spanning genres from metal to grime — but always landing on dubstep. Her 2006 mix “Dubstep Warz” propelled her into the spotlight of the dubstep scene and she’s collaborated with artists like Netsky, Joker, and Joy Orbison.

Tune in on Wednesday, April 13 when we’ll be rebroadcasting the interview.

Update, April 21, 2011:

Take a listen to the interview below!

EOTO's Jason Hann and Michael Travis

Tune in this Wednesday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. EST when we’ll be sitting down with Jason Hann from EOTO, “100% Live Improvised Dubstep, House & Electro”,  to discuss their music, tour, and upcoming Boston concert.

Official bio:

Throbbing bass and thudding beats are the signatures of this project from drummers Michael Travis and Jason Hann. Born out of their shared love of electronic dance music, EOTO’s M.O. is to take the free-wheeling party vibe of a DJ set to the next level by using organic instruments, innovative performance technology, and uncharted musical exploration. Live drums, guitars, and keys, and vocals are mixed, remixed, and sampled on the fly using cutting-edge programs. This is all done without a script, and without a net.

Also, we’ll be giving away one pair of tickets to their May 8 show at the Paradise Rock Club at some point during our show this Wednesday. Tune in for more details on how to win.
